EU's Juncker faces another tough week

<p>European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker faces another tough week in his new job.</p> <p>Following on from the Lux Leaks tax scandal, a group of <span class="caps">MEP</span>s will table a vote of confidence.</p> <p>But the two largest groups in the European Parliament have promised to vote it down.</p> <p>The former Luxembourg prime minister will also unveil later this week his long-awaited 300 billion euro investment plan.</p> <p>It’s as yet an unexplained mix of private and public financing.</p> <p>And it is also unclear how much actual new money will lie behind the attention-grabbing headline figure.</p> <p>Brussels could be set for another showdown with the French government.</p> <p>Former French finance minister Pierre Moscovici is now the European commissioner for economic affairs.</p> <p>He’ll have to run the rule on his former government colleagues’ handling of French public finances.</p> <p>The EU executive officially has until Sunday to publish its opinion on France and the 17 other eurozone economies.</p>
