With the Seine river slowly subsiding, more rainfall is continuing to flood suburbs of Paris.
After reaching a plateau on Monday the Marne river level rose again by 10 centimetres between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
Heavy rains triggered a new rise in water levels, and roads already flooded for a week were forced to stay closed.
Vigicrues, the organisation monitoring floods in France, has reported a slow decline in the Seine's levels since Monday.
