One person has been killed and others injured in an explosion in the Afghan capital of Kabul. The explosion occurred close to the US Embassy.

An explosion has rocked the Afghan capital of Kabul close to the US embassy.

Afghan police have confirmed the explosion has killed at least one person and injured many others.

The explosion occurred on a busy shopping street near the heavily-fortified US embassy around 10am.

This latest explosion comes a week after United States President Donald Trump committed American soldiers to Afghanistan indefinitely.
