A po-faced President Trump saw a French military band break with Bastille Day tradition and launch into a brassy rendition of “Get Lucky” by French electro-pop superstars Daft Punk.
The 39-year-old French President Emmanuel Macron appeared amused with the sharp shift in tempo from martial music to Daft Punk, the new president broke out into a beaming smile.
The brass-and-drums band had started by playing the hymn of the southern city of Nice in a moving tribute to the victims of an attack there last year.
