Jerome Valcke was banned last year by Fifa’s ethics committee for his alleged involvement in a scheme to profit from the sales of World Cup tickets.
The committee also found him guilty of abusing travel expenses, attempting to sell TV rights below their market value and the destruction of evidence.
The original ban was for 12 years and he was also fined the equivalent of 94 000 euros.
His ban was later reduced to ten years by FIFA’s own appeal committee.
The 56-year-old Frenchman has always maintained his innocence and has now turned to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in a bid to overturn the sanction.
