A man who refused for 25 hours to climb down from a tree in Seattle in the US has been charged with malicious mischief and assault.

Cody Lee Miller’s standoff trended on social media.

The 28-year-old, who was arrested last week, appeared to be going through a personal crisis, according to police.

Miller is charged with assault against a law enforcement officer and malicious mischief for damage to the tree, charging documents show.
