Euronews spoke at Berlin’s ITB to Paraag Jaiin Nainuttia, Managing Director at Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Ltd., about Maharashtra, India’s most-visited state.
As you know, although the cumulative growth in the world in the tourism sector is about 4.4 to 4.5 per cent per annum India as a whole is growing at the rate of more than 7 per cent over the last four years. In the state of Maharashtra the growth is a little more, we are growing at a rate of 7.5 year on year. As far international tourists are concerned, we are the number one state in India. We are getting about 1.5 million international tourists (per year).
