Three French members of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have appeared on a new militant propaganda video.

The men are seen burning what appear to be their passports and then proceed to call on others to join them in Syria or to bring terror to the streets of France.

The emergence of the video comes just as France named a second national seen on images released by ISIL of the mass killing of Syrian government soldiers.

It is estimated that around 1,000 French jihadists may have gone to Syria and Iraq.

The French government says that close to 50 French citizens have died in the fighting there.

Earlier this month France convicted its first returnee with a jail term of seven years.

French police have been given special new powers to confiscate passports to prevent people travelling to join the militants.
