Russia’s Vladimir Putin is the most powerful person on earth, according to Forbes.

The Russian president has edged US leader Barack Obama into second place for the second year running with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the China’s Communist Party, in third.

“As the undisputed, unpredictable and unaccountable head of an energy-rich, nuclear-tipped state, no one would ever call him weak,” said Forbes’ senior editor Caroline Howard.

Pope Francis in fourth is the sole non-political leader in the top 10.
Sergey Brin and Larry Page, co-founders of Google, are equal ninth while Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, the youngest in the top 25, is 22nd.
The oldest on the list is the 90-year-old king of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

Angela Merkel, chancellor of Germany is fifth, British Prime Minister David Cameron is 10th while François Holland, President of France is 16th.
