Question by Patrick, member of the European Youth Parliament:

“My question to you is: how do you imagine Europe in ten years?”

Answer by Martin Schulz, European Parliament President:

“In ten years’ time, the European Union will have a clear competence and a shared competence within the member states and the Union: what is done on the level of the Union, and what is done on the level of the member states.

“For the responsibilities transferred exclusively on the level of the European Union, we will have a European government put in force by the European parliament, and, in case of failure, replaced by another government.”
