Video. Change in Texas may 'shape the US presidential election', says analyst

Eric Ham, US political analyst, said that US Democrats believe that many African-American, Latino and young voters are again "up for grabs" after they gave their support for Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

According to Ham, Democrats have "clawed those gains back" during the US midterm elections, with Democrats celebrating the results from this Tuesday. Texas is one of the states where this change was most visible, with the first Democrat elected for the Senate since 1988. He says that the Lone Star state could be key, and "shape the presidential election" in 2028.

The US voted on Tuesday in their mid-term elections, resulting in a historic upset for the incumbent Republican Party. The opposition Democrats look on track to win both houses of US Congress, likely creating significant roadblocks for the incumbents' legislative agenda when the new Congress sits in January.
