Nicknamed 'Bukhangi', the animal can be seen moving through the narrow waterway as people film it on their phones.

Believed to be a bull shark, it was first spotted earlier this month. Coast guard boats have made several attempts to guide it back to the sea, but it has remained in the canal.

The unusual sight has reportedly drawn around one million people to the area.

For some, the encounter is a sign of good luck, while others are concerned about the animal's welfare.

Visitors say they are fascinated by seeing such a large predator so close, but also feel uneasy about its continued confinement.
