Munich's Oktoberfest has attracted a record 7.4 million visitors over 16 days, making this year's edition the most visited in its history.
For locals and visitors alike, the festival remains a major annual tradition.
Munich Mayor Dominik Krause said the festival once again brought locals and international visitors together.
"Generally speaking, the atmosphere was fantastic. You could really sense the presence of the locals at the Wiesn, especially during the week. At the same time, there were plenty of visitors and that is precisely what defines the Wiesn: people from all over the world celebrating together with the locals."
According to the Association of Munich Breweries, around 6.7 million one-litre mugs of beer were served, up 2.7% from last year.
After 16 days of celebrations and record crowds, Oktoberfest has come to an end for another year.
