The Israeli military said the attacks targeted Hezbollah infrastructure after the group announced a new operation against Israel.

Footage from the area showed heavily damaged buildings and smoke rising from the strike sites, while some areas were still smouldering.

The strikes came as tensions escalated in the region, with Hezbollah launching missiles toward Israel and Israel responding with a series of air raids across Lebanon, including in the capital’s southern suburbs.
