Updated:

Russian forces launched overnight drone attacks on Ukraine hitting residential areas in the Kyiv region and Odesa, Ukrainian officials said.

Images released by Ukraine's emergency services show fires blazing over the rubble of a monastery in the southern city of Odesa after a barrage of more than 50 Russian drones killed three people and wounded more than 30.

Firefighters worked from rooftops and the ground to contain the fires and assess the damage.

Regional governor Oleg Kiper said a woman, 39 weeks pregnant, and two girls were among the wounded.

The Black Sea city key for Ukrainian exports has been routinely pummelled by Russian forces.
