Video. Romanian welder transforms scrap metal into stunning art

Updated:

A welder turned ordinary materials like boards, screws, spark plugs, and bicycle chains into sculptures, transforming Galati University's hallway into a unique art exhibition.

The hallways of Galati University have been transformed into an extraordinary exhibition featuring sculptures made entirely from scrap metal. Created by local welder Paul Mironov, the pieces — crafted from bicycle chains, spark plugs, and screws — have captivated visitors of all ages.

Mironov, who insists he is not an artist but a man who "loves beauty," has spent years refining his craft. His most challenging piece, a self-portrait, took 18 months to complete.

The exhibition has sparked interest in a permanent display. "We are considering a museum of diversity," said Arthur Tulus, Dean of Galati University. "We just need the right space."

For now, Mironov’s sculptures stand as proof that even discarded metal can find new life through creativity and skill.
