Portugal's capital Lisbon officially kicked off the Christmas season with its traditional tree lighting ceremony at the Praça do Comercio on Friday.
The celebrations included fireworks, lasers and a concert.
The ceremony, initially set for Thursday, was postponed by a day due to poor weather conditions.
The 1st of December is also a national holiday in Portugal, so thousands of people turned out to see the ceremony and marvel at the Christmas decorations and lights.
