Video. WATCH: Russian village prepares to celebrate Orthodox Easter

"Right now the people of both Russia and Ukraine are in need of compassion," said Andrey Lobaschinsky, the Archpriest of the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary in Karizha.

People from the village of Karizha in central Russia, gathered on Holy Saturday to celebrate the Eucharist and took communion at the 18th-century Orthodox church. 

They expressed their hopes for "the end of the war", with the archpriest of the church saying that "the people of both Ukraine and Russia need compassion".
