Amid chants of “Govinda ala re”, thousands of Mumbaikars will today celebrate Dahi Handi and Krishna Janmashtami with pomp and splendour.With nearly 1,000 mandals and Govinda brigades, Mumbai is one of the biggest centres for Dahi Handi, a popular ceremony held on the second day of Janmashtami, the day that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna who is the eight incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
