It was a week brimming with news, which began with Jean-Claude Juncker’s Commission getting the seal of approval from the European Parliament. A large majority of MEPs backed the new team that will be responsible for Europe’s Executive for the next five years.
In this edition we will also examine the awarding of this year’s Sakharov prize. This year it has gone to a gynecologist from Congo, Denis Mukwege. Since 1988 this European prize has been awarded to those who make outstanding contributions in the fields of fundamental human rights or human thought.
