While the Puertop Rican superstar's halftime show fell just short of Kendrick Lamar's performance last year, his performance has broken records on social media and easily exceeds the numbers of the alternative MAGA halftime show.
Sunday night’s Super Bowl LX numbers have dropped and Bad Bunny’s historic all-Spanish halftime show fell short of setting records for the most watched performance of all time.
According to new data published by Nielsen, the Puerto Rican superstar’s performance averaged 128.2 million viewers, making it the fourth-most watched halftime show behind Kendrick Lamar (133.5 million - 2025), Michael Jackson (133.4 million - 1993) and Usher (129.3 million - 2024).
This year’s show did break records when it comes to social media, as the NFL’s top three most-viewed social posts of all time now come from the Bad Bunny halftime show. They are:
- “Only Thing More Powerful Than Hate Is Love”: 179 million views on Instagram – the most viewed clip on NFL social ever.
- Bad Bunny listing the countries of the Americas: 168 million views on Instagram
- The same clip on TikTok: 100 million views.
According to Apple Music,Bad Bunny listens were up seven times following the halftime show, led by the songs ‘DtMF’, ‘BAILE INoLVIDABLE’, and ‘Tití Me Preguntó’.
While Bad Bunny may not have broken Kendrick Lamar’s record, he did very easily exceed the numbers of Turning Point USA’s rival All-American halftime show, headlined by Kid Rock.
The alternative MAGA event was held in protest of Bad Bunny’s selection as the 2026 Super Bowl halftime star.
The New York Times reported that the YouTube livestream peaked with 6.1 million viewers during the show. That number has since reached just over 21 million views – compared to Bad Bunny’s 66 million YouTube views as of writing.
Donald Trump did not comment on the underwhelming Turning Point USA show, but was clearly watching Bad Bunny’s performance, as he fumed on Truth Social: “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.”
He added: “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying.”
