Video. World's largest ruby gemstone sells for a record $34.8 million

A 55.22 carat ruby named "Estrela de Fura" sold at Sotheby's in New York for $34.8 million, setting a new record price at auction for the precious stone. Sotheby's also sold "The Eternal Pink," a rare 10.57-carat diamond for the same price.
