At a Euronews–CGTN debate, climate leaders from China and Europe warned that only joint action, smart regulation and advanced tech can keep global heating within 1.5C.

In a Euronews–CGTN debate, experts from China and Europe said keeping temperature rise below 1.5C remains technically feasible but politically fragile. They argued no single country will lead green growth; instead, innovation at gigascale, shared standards and cross-border investment must work together.

Speakers highlighted China’s capacity to scale cheap clean tech and Europe’s strengths in regulation and finance, while warning that geopolitics and low trust could stall progress. Artificial intelligence was flagged as key to optimising energy, industry and food systems.
