At least 14 people have been killed and 44 injured after a combined Russian missile and drone attack struck Kyiv overnight, Ukrainian officials say.

The strike, one of the deadliest in recent weeks, devastated a residential building, destroying 30 flats in a single block and leaving dozens without shelter.

Emergency crews worked through the night, pulling survivors from the rubble.

Fires broke out in two additional districts after debris from intercepted drones rained down on the city. Victims were reported in the Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi areas.

Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, visiting the scene, confirmed that a US citizen was among those killed after being hit by shrapnel.

The attack came as President Zelenskyy prepared to attend the G7 summit in Canada, where Ukraine is expected to push for more support.
