Protests against immigration enforcement and President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard and Marines in Los Angeles have spread across the United States this week.

While many rallies have remained peaceful, others have turned tense, leading to confrontations with police, arrests, and the use of chemical agents to disperse crowds.

Demonstrations took place in cities including Seattle, Spokane, Las Vegas and San Antonio.

In Seattle, protesters set a dumpster on fire outside a federal building and clashed with police. Spokane’s mayor imposed a curfew after arrests outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office.

Activists are planning larger nationwide events on Saturday to coincide with a military parade in Washington, despite warnings that immigration raids will continue.
