Russian capture of Soledar could pave the way for Bakhmut invasion

The Ukrainian town of Soledar, home to salt mines is close to falling, despite intense fighting. Should the town fall, this would mark Russia's first gain in the Donbas region in months and would allow the Wagner mercenary group to turn their attention to Bakhmut, their target since the summer.
