Canada: One severely injured in Ottawa shooting incident

One person was critically injured in a shooting at the Elmvale Acres Shopping Centre in Ottawa, Canada on Thursday morning, said police on Twitter.

A police officer also suffered minor injuries, added authorities.

At 7.53 am, Ottawa police responded to a call for a "suspicious incident", a police tweet read.

The Special Investigations Unit in the area said it was looking into the incident.
