Two people have been killed and more than 20 injured after a large fire broke out in the French ski resort of Courchevel.

70 firefighters tackled the fire which started in the early hours of Sunday morning above a Chanel retail shop.

Video, posted on social media, shows many people being evacuated and someone attempting to jump from an upstairs window.

Emergency crews used special ladders to try and access the three-storey building where locals say about 60 workers lived.

At least three of the most seriously injured people were taken to hospital by helicopter.

Officials say the identities of those who died have not yet been established.
