Baby gorilla born at the Beauval Zoo in Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher in Central France.

France’s first baby gorilla of 2018 was born at Beauval Zoo in Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher in central France. According to reports, the mother gorilla Sheila and newborn are in good health.

Gorillas typically live to around 35 years of age. They are one of closest living relatives, sharing up to 98% of human DNA. Chimpanzees and Bonobos monkeys are more closely related to humans sharing approximately 99 percent of our DNA
