A pair of deer in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, took shelter from bad weather in a building site, before becoming trapped in floodwater with no way to get out. Luckily, members of the Zoneton Fire Protection District were on hand to help.

The fire department shared video and images of the trapped deer on September 23, writing, “A lot of rain has fallen in our area the past couple of days and two deer took refuge in a basement under construction Sunday. Zoneton firefighters were able to rescue them and send them on their way to better surroundings.”

In the video, the firefighters managed to grab hold of one of the deer and used a piece of tarp to transfer the animal from the construction zone to safe ground
