The Peugeot driver clinched victory by seconds

The Dakar rally....the eighth stage of the spectacular race has just been won by Peugeot's Stephane Peterhansel. On Saturday Peterhansel had looked like he'd be in trouble when his car got stuck in mud for more than an hour.
But he beat the odds and fought back, eventually claiming victory.
On the bikes.... KTM's Antoine Meo claimed his second win. The overall leader of the bike race Yamaha's Adrien van Beveren came in seventh he holds a lead of only twenty two seconds over his closest rival - Honda rider Kevin Benavides.
There are still six more stages of the race to go which will finish in Cordoba, Argentina
