Moving on from the group stages, the play-offs will now decide who will take the final spots in the World Cup 2018

The world cup play-offs will see Croatia take on Greece after finishing second in a tricky group that was eventually topped by Iceland. While the early results at home seemed enough, the two away defeats in Iceland and Turkey pushed them down to fight for second place.

The Greeks struggled from the start of their campaign, chasing the Belgians before they had even kicked a ball.

Northern Ireland will look to make their home advantage count when they host Switzerland in the first leg of their play-offs. Having finished second in their qualifying group behind world champions Germany, just one game now stands between them and a first World Cup appearance since 1986.

But it won’t be plain sailing as Switzerland are on form. Ranked 11th in the world, they’ve won nine out of their ten group B matches.
