50 dead in ISIL suicide attack in Iraq

The self-proclaimed Islamic State group has taken responsibility for suicide attacks that killed at least 50 people and injured more than 80 in the southern Iraqi city of Nassiriya.

A statement on the Amaq news agency, which supports the hardline Sunni Muslim group, said the attacks carried out by its suicide fighters targeted a restaurant and a checkpoint, killing “dozens of Shi’ites”.
