US Open final: Keys v Stephens

In the US Open, world number 83 Sloane Stephens has beaten fellow American ninth seed Venus Williams 6-1, 0-6, 7-5 in the semi-finals at Flushing Meadows.

Madison Keys crushed Coco Vandeweghe 6-1, 6-2 and will meet Stephens in the final that will see a new grand slam champion crowned.

Saturday’s final will be an all-American face-off, the first time two US women have played for the title since 2002, when Venus lost to her younger sister Serena Williams.

Sloane Stephens vs. Madison Keys is the first Grand Slam final between two black women not featuring the Williams Sisters.
