At least eight people hurt in Surgut in north-eastern Russian
The self-styled Islamic State says it was behind a stabbing attack that left eight people injured in the Siberian city of Surgut.
Russian police shot dead the knifeman who set upon people walking through central streets, according to Russian news agency TASS.

Authorities say they are treating the attack as attempted murder but have refused to say whether the incident is terrorism related; however Russia’s Investigations Committee said it had identified the attacker and was checking his psychological history.
