Police in the Netherlands have arrested five Romanian men on suspicion of stealing iPhones worth 500,000 Euros from a moving delivery truck.

The audacious robbery had all the hallmarks of a Hollywood heist movie as the gang allegedly tailgated the truck in their modified van before one member climbed aboard the moving vehicle. The thief broke into the truck and then passed boxes of iPhones to his accomplices through a hole in the roof of the van.

Dutch police spokesman Ed Kraszewzki said the force had been investigating truck thefts for some time but were previously doubtful that such a heist could be pulled off. It follows reports of similar thefts across Europe which have almost always targeted shipments of smartphones.

The five men were arrested on Saturday and the stolen iPhones have been recovered.
