There is a strong indication the UK Conservatives are confident they have a deal with a party in Northern Ireland to prop up a minority government.
As Arlene Foster from the Democratic Unionist Party continues to have talks over whether to strike an arrangement with Prime Minister Theresa May, the leader of the lower house in Westminster confirmed the state opening of parliament will be next Wednesday.
A legislative agenda is due to be set out.
By setting the date, when the Queen will make a speech, May appears to be optimistic there will not be an impasse in the talks.
But some media say both sides still need to agree on the details of any deal.
