Four middle-eastern countries have cut diplomatic ties with Qatar on the grounds that it is a supporter of terrorism.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates all announced in quick succession that the would be taking official action to distance themselves from their neighbour.

Saudi Arabia is closing all its land and sea routes to Qatar, while Etihad Airways is suspending all its routes to the country from tomorrow.

Qatar, which is due to host the controversial 2022 football World Cup has not commented so far.
