Britain ranks behind many other European nations in a global list of health systems published by medical Journal “The Lancet.”

Britain scored 85 on a scale of zero to 100, lagging behind Finland, Spain, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Ireland, Austria, France, Belgium, Slovenia, Greece, Germany and Malta.

The analysis of death-rate data from 195 nations put the UK on a par with Czech Republic and Portugal.

The top-ranking country was the tiny principality of Andorra, which scored 95.
