A passenger ferry has crashed into a pier in the Canary Islands, causing an oil slick from damaged underwater fuel pipes.

A passenger ferry has crashed into a pier in the Canary Islands, causing an oil slick from damaged underwater fuel pipes.

An emergency operation was launched to control and clean up the three-kilometre slick.

Among the 140 passengers, only minor injuries were reported.
