The seventeen year old, who is still at high school, beat Estonian Anett Kontaveit six four, seven six.

Vondrousova struck 28 winners to 26 unforced errors and edged past Kontaveit at the end of each set.

Vondrousova had beaten her compatriot, world number eighteen Barbora Strycova in two sets in the semi-finals.

It was just her second WTA tournament, after being defeated in the first round in Prague last year.
