A car with Palestinian number plates rammed into pedestrians standing at a bus stop in Ofra, in the occupied West Bank, on Thursday.

A man in his twenties was killed in the attack, and a 19-year old injured.

Witnesses told the media that the attacker aimed his vehicle at the two young men and accelerated towards them.

The Israeli army has said that the driver was taken into custody at the scene.

wave of violence

The death brings to 41 the number of Israelis killed in a wave of violence that broke out in October 2015.

The same violence has claimed the lives of 259 Palestinians. Most of the Palestinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, according to Israeli authorities.

Others were shot dead during protests, clashes, or in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
