Trump's trade beef with Europe escalates

Donald Trump latest confrontation is brewing this time against allies, the European Union.

Trump and his administration have threatened to slap a 100 percent tariff on some of the continent’s most iconic products.

Roquefort cheese,San Pellegrino and Perrier water as well as Vespa scooters are in Trump’s line of fire.

The president wants the European Union to lift the ban on hormone-treated American beef.

German Foreign Minister
Sigmar Gabriel has shown his metal by calling on the European Union to file a complaint against the US over planned duties on imports of steel plate from five EU states.

Gabriel said the new tariffs will violate international law.

The US has accused Germany of using a “grossly undervalued” euro to gain a competitive advantage.
