At least four people have been injured after a Palestinian man opened fire at an Israeli market, authorities said.

Police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld said the man from the West Bank opened fire in the city of Petah Tikva,10km east of Tel Aviv, before being arrested by police.

A wave of street attacks by Palestinians began in October 2015, and had slowed in recent months. Israel blames the Palestinian leadership for inciting violence. The Palestinian Authority, denies this and says the attackers are acting out of their own frustration over Israeli occupation in settlements.
