Musical romance La La Land is in the running for a record-equalling 14 awards at this year's Oscars.

Awards season is in full swing and La La Land has, once again, come out on top in the nominations.

It is in the running for a record-equalling 14 Oscars.

With two nominations in the Best Original Song category, though, it’s unlikely – but not impossible – that it will take home all of the statuettes.

The musical romance is also nominated in the coveted Best Picture category.

He won the Best Actor gong at the Golden Globes and now Casey Affleck will be hoping to replicate his success at the Oscars for his role in the grief drama Manchester By The Sea. Affleck is in the running for the same title at this year’s BAFTAs.

New US President Donald Trump called her ‘over-rated’. But, it seems the Oscars committee disagreed. Meryl Streep, the most-nominated performer in Oscar history, is up for Best Actress for her role in Florence Foster Jenkins.

German comedy Toni Erdmann is the frontrunner in the foreign language shortlist.

The February 26 ceremony in Los Angeles will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
