North Korea’s Kim Jong Un has expressed his condolences over the death of Fidel Castro, in a letter to the revolutionary leader’s brother, Cuban President Raul Castro.

During a North Korean state-television broadcast yesterday (November 27), a KRT newsreader quoted extracts from the letter, which read:

“Upon hearing the sad news that Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz, the supreme leader of the Cuban revolution, passed away unexpectedly, I express my deep condolences to the Cuban party, government and people and to the bereaved family members of the deceased.”
