US actress Meryl Streep, regarded as one of the finest on-screen performers of her generation, will be presented with the Golden Globes lifetime achievement award, organisers said on Thursday.

Streep, a three-time Oscar winner, is set to receive the Cecil B. DeMille award in recognition for her ‘‘outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment’‘ during the annual ceremony in January.’‘
