The trial has begun in France of disgraced former Socialist minister Jerome Cahuzac, accused of tax evasion and money-laundering. The former Budget minister is accused of illegally hiding cash in accounts, first in Switzerland in 1992 and later in Singapore, and of disguising the money transfers via shell companies in Panama and the Seychelles.
