Welshman Bradley Dredge held his nerve to card an impressive 66 during the second round of the Made in Denmark tournament on Friday.

The 43-year-old is now three shots ahead of Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren but the highlight of the day’s play was the reception Darren Clarke received on the 16th.

The experienced golfer, who will lead the European Team in next month’s Ryder Cup against the United States in Minnesota. was clearly touched by the gesture and took a photograph of the crowd as he stepped onto the green.

Europe has now won the previous three Ryder Cup events, which are held every two years.
