Barcelona have signed Andre Gomes from Valencia for an initial fee of €35m.
The former Benfica player helped Portugal to victory of France in the final of the Euros 2016 in Paris.
The 22-year-old Gomes
could cost a further €20m if all the add on fees come to pass.
The young appears to have his feet on the ground:“I want to keep growing and learning. Many of the players in the team are role models for me. I don’t need to name names because there are so many of them. I want to keep on growing. I am 22 going on 23. I have time ahead to become a man and a much better player.”
Gomes is the club’s fourth summer signing, after French defenders Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne joined from Lyon and Paris St-Germain.
Denis Suarez re-signed after a season at Villarreal.
